Reports are claiming Hector Bellerin doesn’t want to join Barcelona.
Last week, reports emerged that Bellerin was still on Barcelona’s radar as they look to strengthen their right back position.
Apparently, the defender is happy at the Emirates as if it were not so, he wouldn’t have signed a six and a half year contract with Arsenal in November.
But the new deal hasn’t put off Barcelona and Manchester City who are still interested in his services.
According to Don Balon via The Sun, Barcelona have little or no chance of signing Bellerin as the defender has no intention of returning to the club where he spent most of his youth career.
The 21-year-old is keen to avoid what befell Cesc Fabregas who returned to the Camp Nou after becoming a star at Arsenal.
Fabregas became a Gunner at a tender age like Bellerin and returned to Barcelona in 2011 but he struggled to nail down a regular spot at the Camp Nou.
The current Chelsea midfielder’s relationship with Barca and it’s fans went sour before he finally moved back to London in 2014.
Bellerin is keen to avoid such situation and it is thought he will prefer to join Guardiola at City if he has to leave Arsenal.
Guardiola was interested in signing the defender last summer but Arsenal weren’t prepared to do business and it is believed he still holds a concrete interest in the defender. However, his chances of signing him is slim after he signed a new long-term deal with us.
Bellerin is expected to remain a Gunner for a long time and hopefully, he will honour the length of his current deal.
