I WIll Be At The Emirates Stadium Next Summer, Star Man Reveals Good News

Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.

Arsene Wenger has dismissed talks linking him with a move to Barcelona.

The French man’s contract expires at the end of this season and he is yet to commit his future to the club. He already has a new 2-year extension offer on his table which he has refused to sign. This has caused reports to link him with a move away to other clubs including Barcelona.

The Catalan giants confirmed earlier in the week that Luis Enrique will not continue with them next season and Wenger has been quickly linked with taking over at the Camp Nou.

But, the French man has dismissed such reports, insisting his preference is to remain at Arsenal.

“No, my preference [staying at Arsenal] is always the same, it will remain the same, Wenger said, as quoted by Goal.

“I am not looking for jobs at other clubs or jobs of other people. I am just focusing on getting to the next level and try to improve.

“Competent managers always try to get better, to reinvent themselves.”

Believe it or not, that’s a big hint that Wenger will remain at Arsenal next season. Top brasses at the club have revealed on several occasions that their preference is for Wenger to continue and the boss’ statements that he would prefer to stay means both the club and the manager are on the same page.

Obviously this won’t go down well with some Gooners who want to see the French man leave but I reckon we will be better off with him around. Wenger has been a part and parcel of this club, having spent 21 years at the helm and there will be no better manager to run the club than him. I know he won’t remain here forever but I will prefer to have him here for now.

 I don’t know about you.
