Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has revealed that Alexis Sanchez drive to succeed is inspiring Arsenal team.

Sanchez has been Arsenal’s best player this season, with the most goals (20 in all competitions) and assists (18).

The Chilean has been key to what Arsenal have achieved thus far, his passion on the pitch as been evident in his never-ssy-die attitude. He was unhappy with his teammates when the team lost big matches like against Chelsea and Bayern Munich but Chamberlain says the Chilean’s reaction hasn’t had any negative effect on the team, instead, he inspires the team to want to do better.

Speaking to Arsenal Player as quoted by Tribal Football, Chamberlain said:

“The boys were all happy in the dressing room but Alexis came to me in the shower and he’s like ‘My friend are you going to score?! Oh no my friend… I passed you the ball, you have a cup of tea, you wait… and then you shoot!’

“I was just laughing like ‘Yeah, sorry my friend…’ He always wants assists, he wants goals and that’s what makes him the player he is. He’s always hungry for that and he passes that onto us all. We’ve got a lot of those sorts of characters in the team.

“Alexis is probably one of the strongest ones that will voice his opinions at all times. He is one of those that keeps demanding and trying to bring the best out of you.”

Alexis is being linked with a move away from the Emirates due to the uncertainty surrounding his future. The forward is yet to sign a contract extension to his current deal which expires next year.

Gooners are hoping Wenger will reach an agreement with the forward as soon as possible. His importance to our team can’t be overemphasized, he will be difficult to replace and it will be a huge mistake if he is allowed to leave.
