Juventus have joined Arsenal in the race to sign FC Porto striker Andre Silva, according to reports.
Arsenal scouts have watched Silva on more than one occasions this season and it is His performances have reportedly impressed Arsenal scouts and the club has now identified the Portuguese as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez.
He already has seventeen goals and five assists in the Portuguese League this season and with Sanchez looking likely to leave the Emirates this summer, the Portuguese has become a key target of Arsenal ahead of next season.
However, we are set to face competition for his services as, Transfermarketweb via The Daily Star, Juventus have joined Arsenal in the race to sign the striker.
The Italian giants are expected to provide stiff competition for the striker’s services.
Silva could be one of the most sought-after players in the summer transfer window as Manchester United and Real Madrid have sent representatives to watch the striker in action and could also join the race to sign him.
The striker is not expected to come cheap, he has a €60m release clause in his contract which doesn’t expire until 2022. Porto are in a strong position to hold out for the entire clause to be activated and they obviously will.
It remains to be seen if Arsenal will pay that much for the striker or move on to other targets on its shortlist. We may be forced to do so because of Juventus’ interest but we’ll have to wait and see.
