Ray Parlour: Wenger WIll Break The Bank To Announce Done Deal For This DUO

Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has urged the club to do whatever is needed to secure the future of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

Both players’ contracts expires at the end of next season and with little just over a year left in their current deal, they are being linked with moves away from the Emirates.

Arsenal have warned on several occasions that they won’t let any of the duo leave this summer but decision makers know we may be forced to sell if they refuse to sign new contracts or risk losing them for nothing next year.

It is still not clear why both players are yet to extend their contracts but Parlour has urged his club to find a solution to the impasse.

The former Gunner believes offering the players big money contract extensions will be good enough to convince them into staying.

“Arsenal are going to have to go big,” Parlour said, as quoted by Football Insider.

“They’re going to have to go to £250,000 a week which the board are probably not going to like to do. But this is what you’ve got to do to keep Sanchez. Sign them up, pay the money.

“Sanchez is so important and you saw that on the weekend. If you are going to replace Sanchez, with his quality, you’re going to have to spend £50million plus.

“Then, they want £200,000 a week because that is the going rate of everyone at other clubs.”

Ozil and Sanchez have played key roles in our season performances till date and keeping them is so important.

The duo combined to produce our first goal in the 2-0 win over Sunderland on Tuesday and with the club keen on signing top players in the coming transfer window, securing their futures will be important as it is the first step we need to take if we want to get back to the top of English Football.
