Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal has revealed his club’s interest in signing Arsenal star forward Alexis Sanchez, according to reports.

With just about 12 months left in Sanchez’s contract, he has been linked with a move to Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Paris Saint Germain and even to his former club Barcelona, but Vidal has revealed the Bundesliga champions are also keen on signing his international teammate.

Sanchez is expected to hold talks with Arsenal about his future this summer, but top football pundits such as Bettingtips4You are linking him with an exit due to Arsenal’s failure to qualify for the Champions League.

Vidal says Bayern chiefs have asked him about Sanchez and he is looking forward to lining up alongside his compatriot at the Alianz Arena.

“When they have asked me, I have always said that it is the player who has to come here, he has a year left in his contract, because he is much easier to pay now than if he were three years old,” Vidal told Sport, as quoted by Squawka.

“Decision for him and for Chile also, because he is a player that helps us a lot.

“He is a very good player, he has a lot of quality and he is young, we hope he will be able to come here because here he will show all his quality.”

Arsenal remain hopeful of convincing the Chilean to sign a new contract when talks resume in the summer but we must accept that there is a chance the forward could decide to leave. If that be the case, Bayern’s interest would be good for us as it will allow us sell him abroad rather than to Premier League rival.

That said, we must do everything possible to keep him here, his renewal will be key to our summer transfer plans.
