According to the Sun, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed his interest in signing Leicester City’s winger Riyad Mahrez.
The reports claim Wenger plans on signing the £40million rated winger who has been sensational since winning the Premier League with the Foxes in the 2015/2016 season.
Per the report claims the Algeria international has tended a transfer exit with Arsenal in leading the race for his signature.
While the futures of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil are shrouded in uncertainty, the Gunners are pressing ahead with their transfer business and are also interested in signing Barcelona playmaker Adar Turan.
However, Wenger is said to be looking at two top wingers in a bid to turn Arsenal into Premier League title contenders once again.
Wenger says that he is yet to make an opening offer for Mahrez but admitted he could table a bid could be imminent.
The Frenchman said: “We have not made a bid for him but personally I like the player, yes.
“I think he had a huge impact at Leicester when they won the championship, like everybody else.
“It’s been a different season this year but it doesn’t take anything away from his qualities.
“Have we made a bid for him? No. Not yet. Not yet means it could happen, it could not happen.”
