According to reports from the Metro, Arsenal have been handed a massive boost in finally getting Arsene Wenger’s long-term target Arda Turan after Barcelona’s new head coach Ernesto Valverde said he can leave the Nou Camp.
The 30-year-old playmaker has been heavily linked with a move to north London in the past transfer window, with a report suggesting Wenger seeing him a potential replacement for Mesut Ozil.
And Haberturk are reporting the Barcelona manager has given Turan the green light to push through a move to Arsenal.
Speaking in March, Turan’s agent Ahmet Bulut told ESPN FC: “There is currently no offer, there is nothing to speak of right now.
“I have not been contacted by Arsenal. As I said before, he is happy at Barcelona and has three years left on his contract.”
Now reports from the emerged from the Daily Star claiming the Gunners have already approached the creative midfielder’s agent, Ahmet Bulut, and have been in talks over a deal for at least a month.
Turan scored 13 goals in 30 appearances for Barca last season, he also provided seven assists.
It is believed Arsenal will have to pay £20million to beat AC Milan who are also keen on his signature.
