According to reports making the round, Arsenal have opened talks with Nice for Jean Seri
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and Ivan Gazidis touched down in Nice yesterday sparking talk of a transfer move.
It’s emerged Arsenal have now opened with OGCN talks for defensive midfielder Seri.
The Guardian’s deputy sports news editor Ed Aarons has taken to Twitter to claim that Wenger met with the Nice midfielder’s agent to discuss a possible deal for the 25-year-old.
He also claims that French side Nice are holding out for a transfer fee of at least €40m (£35m) for the Ivorian, and that Italian side Roma are also interested in the player.
Aarons tweeted: “Arsene Wenger held talks with Jean Seri’s agent last week. Nice holding out for 40m euros after rejecting bid from Roma over weekend #afc.”
The Ivorian is a regular fixture in the Nice team last season and scored seven goals and made nine assists in 34 Ligue 1 games for the French side.
Arsenal will have to act fast as AS Roma and Barcelona are reported interested in signing him also this summer.
