According to a report from the Daily Star, Arsenal could suffer a massive blow in keeping Alexis Sanchez at Arsenal after reports suggest Bayern Munich are ready to make him their highest paid player ever with a £21.7m-a-year offer.
Sanchez’s wages would far exceed the likes of Robert Lewandowski, who earns around £16m-a-year.
The Chile international have 12 months remaining in his current contract at Arsenal and have stalled in signing a new contract extension to remain at the Emirates.
Previous reports suggest Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are heavily interested in the forward and are reported to have met with Sanchez’s agent last month in Germany.
Arsenal are determined in keeping the former Barcelona man as England rivals Manchester City are also reportedly interested in his signature.
Sanchez confirmed today that he is leaving the matter of his future in the hands of his agent as he prepares for the Confederations Cup with Chile.
‘I’m watching what my agent does,’ said Sanchez.
‘For now I’m focused on the Cup here in Russia and try to do well. The truth is that my representative will see it.
‘He knows and will sit with the club seeing what is best for me. I would like many things, but I only think about the selection.’
