Arsenal have touched base with Juventus over a potential summer deal for midfielder Mario Lemina.
Lemina is set to hold talks with Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri over his future at the club, the midfielder has told RMC.
“I think before preseason, we’ll have a discussion about that. We’re going to talk to each other. We’re going to see what they really want to do with me and what I want to do in terms of how much playing time I’ll get. We’re going to put everything on the table and speak about it calmly,” he said.
“I learn alongside these players every day. We really have a well-stocked midfield with great names like [Sami] Khedira, [Miralem] Pjanic, [Claudio Marchisio. I learn a lot, I gain a lot of experience. But it’s true that next year, I have to play a lot more to be able to make a name for myself like they have.”
However, Italian football journalist Tancredi Palmeri who says the Gunners have held initial talks with the Serie A champions.
Palmeri tweeted: “Arsenal have contacted Juventus for Lemina.”
Lemina admitted recently that he has been flattered by reports linking him with a move to the Emirates.
The 23-year-old Gabon international, who is under contract at Juventus until 2020, is valued at around £20m.
