Arsenal have been told they will be without Takuma Asano who signed for the Gunners last summer and was shipped out on loan due to work permit issues.
According to the Express, Asano will remain at Stuttgart next season after failing to meet work permit guidelines.
The Japan international joined the club from Sanfrecce Hiroshima in July 2016, becoming the Gunners’ second signing of the window after Granit Xhaka.
The 22-year-old adapted well to German football scoring five goals and providing four assists in 26 appearances to help the club earn promotion to the Bundesliga.
It was hoped Asano would be eligible to begin his Arsenal career next term with three clauses included in Asano’s contract which would have allowed the Gunners to terminate the deal
Asano played fewer than 25 appearances or he became eligible for a work permit to play in the Premier League.
