Reports claims Arsenal are about to lose out in signing Jean Michael Seri as Roma have reportedly made a bid of €15 million (£13.1 million) for Nice, but they may have to increase their offer, with the Ligue 1 side believed to want €40 million (£35.1 million).
Arsene Wenger was spotted in Nice earlier this summer apparently trying to secure a deal for the talented Ivory Coast star, though his trip to the south coast of France appears to have been in vain.
Instead, it is Roma who are closing in on his signature according to French radio station RMC, having been given permission to speak to him last week by Nice.
Nice have informed all suitors that they will only agree to sell Seri when his €40m (£35m) release clause is met.
Reports claims Arsene Wenger see Seri as a potential replacement for Santi Cazorla.
Roma appears to be in pole position, as they aim to build on last season’s second-place finish, with the help of Monchi, who has a superb record in the transfer market from his days at Sevilla.
Nevertheless, Roma are confident of concluding a deal this week having thrashed out an agreement with Seri’s agent in Rome on Sunday.
