Everton have beaten Arsenal to the signing of Nigerian international Henry Onyekuru.
Reports from the Sun suggest the Toffees have clinched a deal for one of Nigeria’s most exciting young talents.
The KAS Eupen forward was heavily linked with a move for the 20-year-old forward who was leading joint scorer in the Belgian Super League with 22 goals in 38 games.
Now, the Toffees got the Nigerian ahead of the Gunners and other top European sides, who all scouted the youngster.
Onyekuru is believed to have undergone a medical at Everton’s Finch Farm training base on Monday and agreed personal terms – with his contract having a £6.8m release clause.
Despite his move to Goodison Park, he will spend next season on loan at Anderlecht as he does not yet qualify for a United Kingdom work permit.
