Arsenal could lose Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this month as reports from the Metro claims contract talks with Arsenal has collapsed.
The England international has just 11 months left on his current contract and he has failed to put pen to paper to sign a new improved deal at the Emirate Stadium.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool, West Ham and Chelsea but Arsenal has been reluctant to sell to a Premier League rival.
In April, Wenger said it was vital Oxlade-Chamberlain remained.
“I personally think it is vital that Chamberlain stays at Arsenal,” he said.
“We bought him when he was very young, we have built him up and I think he has a great mentality.
“I like his mentality and he has a good football brain. It would be a big damage for us to lose this kind of player.”
Skysport claims no new talks are currently planned and the chances of Oxlade-Chamberlain committing his future are “virtually nil”.
