Everton head-coach Roland Koeman wants to receive an answer from Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud this week regarding whether he remains at Emirates Stadium or join the Merseyside Blues.
The 30-year-old Forward has been heavily linked with a switch to Goodison Park as he isn’t guaranteed a regular spot at Arsene Wenger’s starting lineup, especially following the club’s record signing Alexandre Lacazette, who could be joined by his international teammate Thomas Lemar in a £45 million deal.
According to the Mirror, Dutch manager is prepared to pay £25 million for Giroud who has managed to score 69 goals since his time in England.
The Merseyside Blues have been heavily active in the transfer window so far, but Koeman is still keen on for offensive reinforcements in order to replace departed forward Romelu Lukaku.
Sandro Ramirez has also joined the Blues from La Liga side Malaga with a view to cover the gap that has been left after the exit of Belgian forward.
The Merseyside Blues are preparing for their Thursday’s second leg Europa League qualifier.
Everton thus far have made seven major signings: Jordan Pickford – Sunderland – £25 million, Davy Klaassen – Ajax – £23.6 million. Henry Onyekuru – Eupen – £6 million, Sandro Ramirez – Malaga – £5.2 million, Michael Keane – Burnley – £25 million, Wayne Rooney and Cuco Martina for free.
