Arsenal have been put in an advantage position ahead of our Premier League opener against Leicester City on Friday.

The Gunners may have had some bad news on the injury front ahead of Friday’s season opener against Leicester – but they have been boosted by the news that the Foxes will also be missing some key men at the Emirates.

New summer signing Vicente Iborra has been ruled out by Foxes boss Craig Shakespeare after suffering a groin strain in training, while Danny Drinkwater will also be absent.

That leaves Shakespeare with just Wilfred Ndidi, Matty James, Andy King and Daniel Amartey as his options in central midfield for Friday’s clash in north London.

Defender Robert Huth is also out, having not featured in pre-season following an ankle surgery at the beginning of July.

“Danny Drinkwater has a thigh injury, which should hopefully only be another week,” said Shakespeare.

“Vicente Iborra picked up a groin strain the other day in training, so he will miss Friday’s game.”

However, Arsenal will also be without Alexis Sanchez due to abdominal problem, while Arsene Wenger has serious doubts over Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey.

Defender Laurent Koscielny is expected to miss our opener due to the red card he received against Everton on the final day of last season.
