According to reports from the Metro claims Barcelona have dropped in the race to sign Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri.
The Ivory Coast international impressed in Ligue 1 last season, scoring seven goals and providing nine assist.
The 24-year-old was heavily linked with a move to away from France and have attracted the likes of Barcelona and Arsenal but it seems Barcelona are not willing to pay Seri’s £36million release clause and have withdrawn their interest.
Seri confirmed last week that there’s been plenty of interest in his services this summer but said he would only leave Nice to play regular first-team football.
‘There are a lot of clubs that follow me. But there is nothing done,’ said Seri.
‘If I leave, it will be to join a club where there is a real desire to play football as in Nice.
‘And I’m not going to be on the bench, I’m leaving only if I know I’m going to play.’
