While Manchester United and Chelsea ignited rivalry over the signature of players in the transfer window, Arsenal and Liverpool are currently locking horns for the transfer of similar targets.

Yesterday there were reports that Arsenal and Liverpool made offers for Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio but nothing has been heard since offers were made for the midfielder. And now latest report according to the Express has indicated that Arsenal and Liverpool are prepared to make offers for Brazilian star Luan.

Luan was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool earlier this year after he rejected a contract extension with Brazilian outlet Gremio. He is currently a subject of a £18m bid from Russian outlet Spartak Moscow but reports have indicated that Moscow have failed in their attempt to sign the star, leaving Arsenal and Liverpool to pounce on him.

Arsenal have struggled in the transfer window since the signing of Alexandre Lacazette but Wenger has not ruled out the signing of player(s) before the transfer window is slammed shut. Luan could be a good option to either Lemar or Mahrez.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have also had their fair share of activities in the transfer window but Klopp is still looking to add a creative midfielder in the mould of Luan to his side. The Reds have seen bids for Naby Keita rebuffed and they could as well lose Coutinho to Barcelona.

Liverpool are more keen on the player with reports according to Globo Esporte claiming the Reds had their Scout watching the star at  Gremio’s Copa Libertadores clash against Godoy Cruz on Wednesday night.

According to report, he will be available for £26million.
