Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger handed 17-year-old academy starlet Nathan Tormey his first professional contract in July. Just a month after signing his first professional contract with Arsenal, winger Nathan Tormey has suffered a long-term hamstring injury.
The 17-year-old winger has been with the Gunners since joining the youth system at Under-12 level.
The player had only recently recovered from what was described by youth expert Jeorge Bird as an “injury nightmare”, but before even getting the chance to show what he could do for the u18s, it seems that his fitness problems have returned.
Last season, Tormey only managed to make one appearance for the u18s. It’s all very disappointing for a teenager described as “technically gifted and pacey” by Arsenal’s official website.
