News of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Liverpool will come as a major blow to Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, who urged Oxlade-Chamberlain to commit his future to Arsenal last week.
“I think we invested a lot of time and confidence and money in players like Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain that we bought at a very young age” said Wenger.
“For me, they have a responsibility for the future of this club because Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be one of the big English players in the coming years and I personally am highly determined to keep him here at the club in the hope that he will commit.”
Now reports making the round claims Arsenal have agreed a £40m deal with Liverpool for the 24-year-old England midfielder.
The 24-year-old also rejected a move to Chelsea on Tuesday after a fee had been agreed.
He has made 198 appearances for Arsenal since joining them from Southampton in August 2011.
