According to a report via Sky Sport, the Gunners’ has a club-record offer of £92m for the France international Thomas Lemar which was accepted by Monaco, but the deal is now very unlikely to happen before the close of the summer transfer window.
The report further claims Lemar is not interested in a switch to the Emirates and would prefer to move to Liverpool which has now seen the Gunners withdrawn their interest in the 21-year-old.
Arsenal and Liverpool have already failed with two bids to sign Lemar, with the latest offer totaling only £64.8m.
Lemar is currently due to play for France in Thursday’s World Cup Qualifier against the Netherlands at the Stade De France in Paris.
He scored 12 goals in 39 appearances last season as Monaco won the Ligue 1 title for the first time in 17 years.
