Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.

Arsenal Chief Ivan Gazidis will be quizzed on Saturday following another traumatic start to the season.

He will be asked series of questions related to the club’s decision “mismanaged transfer window”, their decision to reappoint Arsene Wenger “against the wishes of the independent members of the board” and his own perceived failure to be a “catalyst for change”.

They also lost Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to the Anfield club before the transfer window closed and failed to replace him with Monaco’s Thomas Lemar.

It read: “In recent weeks many members have contacted us expressing concerns and posing questions about how Arsenal have handled the re-appointment of Arsene Wenger and the summer transfer window.

“We have therefore consolidated these views into the following questions for Ivan Gazidis at the Fans’ Forum. We will update members on the answers provided:

“1. Can you explain what you expected to achieve when you talked of being a ‘catalyst of change’ at the club in the spring. Who or what prevented you from subsequently doing much?

“2. In light of the poor team performances, not making the Champions League, flat commercial revenues and a mismanaged transfer window will you offer to forego any bonus this year?

“3. The AST has previously commissioned independent governance reports into how Arsenal was run. That report made several key observations including that there was not enough strategic planning, that the board did not have enough of the right skill sets and that too much power was concentrated in the hands of the manager leading to a lack of accountability. Please can you comment on the governance arrangements at the club including on why it is possible for the manager to be reappointed against the wishes of the independent members of the board and also on when Arsenal will improve their governance arrangements including through appointment of new board members?

“4. AST analysis shows there is plenty of available cash for strengthening the team. The last transfer window could have seen almost £100 million net spent on players. Please explain why these resources weren’t invested in the team.”
