Arsenal have broken off contract negotiations with Mesut Ozil and have not discussed a new deal with the midfielder since February, according to reports in Germany.
The 28-year-old’s current deal expires at the end of the season and is free to hold talks with teams outside of England as from January.
SportBild report that Arsenal stopped negotiations with Ozil’s representatives earlier this year due to the uncertainty over Arsene Wenger’s future.
The report claims that Wenger had been in talks with Paris Saint-Germain and the club’s planning was affected due to the lack of clarity surrounding the Arsenal manager’s next move.
But since Wenger signed a new contract at the end of May, the club still haven’t pushed for Ozil to commit his future.
SportBild also claim that Ozil has not received an offer of £250,000 a week from Arsenal, despite widespread reports.
