Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admits summer signing Alexandre Lacazette is not yet prepared to play a full 90 minutes for the Gunners.
France international Lacazette joined the Emirate club for a club-record transfer fee in the summer transfer window and has netted two goals in five English Premier League matches so far.
The Frenchman played the entire 90 minutes in his first game on the opening matchday against Leicester City but has not played a full match ever since.
Lacazette was pulled out after 66 minutes in the goalless draw against Premier League Champions Chelsea, and manager Arsene Wenger claim it was due to his battle to maintain the intensity in the Premier League.
Wenger said he felt Lacazette had a very good first 45 minutes, where he worked hard for the entire team and was disciplined.
He said the Frenchman needs some time to maintain that high intensity for 90 minutes in the Premier League.
Wenger said: “Don’t forget I have Theo Walcott, Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez on the substitute bench. After 65 minutes in a match of that high intensity, it’s only normal that you (the manager) bring fresh legs on.
“Does he (Lacazette) understand that? I (Arsene Wenger) never ask any striker to understand that he has to make room (be substituted) for someone else.
