According to reports, Arsenal are preparing a £10m bid for ex-Gunner they sold for just £400k – possible Mesut Ozil replacement
Arsenal have been linked with a move for their former player Oguzhan Ozyakup.
The Turkey international left the Gunners to join Besiktas for just £400,000 back in 2012.
Ozyakup has gone onto establish himself as a first-team regular at Besiktas and has cemented his place in the Turkey national team.
The 25-year-old has also played a key role in Besiktas’ impressive UEFA Champions League campaign so far.
According to the Turkish outlet Fotomac, Arsenal are preparing up a £10 million offer for Ozyakup in January.
The Turkey international can play in either an attacking midfield role or as a deeper midfield playmaker. Ozyakup can play in the same position as Mesut Ozil if the 29-year-old leaves the club at the end of the season.
Ozyakup has entered the last year of his contract with Besiktas and has under eight months remaining on his current deal.
Per the source, Besiktas are locked in contract negotiations with the 25-year-old and have tabled a bumper new deal.
