Germany chief has suggested that Leon Goretzka might be plying his trade in the English Premier League when the transfer window opens.

Leon Goretzka who has been targeted by both Liverpool and Arsenal could turn out for one of the two clubs when the transfer window opens. Germany chief, Oliver Bierhoff has admitted that many of Germany’s best talents are on the way out of the Bundesliga.

Long-term admirers Arsenal and Liverpool have been keeping close tabs on the player whose contract with Schalke runs out this summer. According to Sunday Mirror Sport, the Gunners’ North London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur are also in the race to sign the German midfielder.

However, German Bundesliga club, Schalke are hopeful the player could sign a contract extension before January. The situation has made Germany’s general manager believe that the midfielder is on his way to England as he discussed the financial strength of Premier League clubs.
The German chief was of the opinion that the financial power of English Premier League contributes to the high number of talented young players moving to England.

He said, “We feel that England, because of the amount of money you have with TV rights, young talented players like Leroy Sané and Leon Goretzka are moving to England and this is not good for our league but also for the quality of our game.”

The German further pointed that they have to do more to raise the quality of German football, “We have to pay attention and invest again and again in the education of our coaches.”

Germany take on England in Friday. Goretzka will not be part of the group playing at Wembley.
