Former Arsenal player who is now a Sky Sports pundit, Charlie Nicholas as expressed his shock and disbelief over Arsene Wenger’s comment on Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez transfer saga.
According to Wenger, the Chilean striker Sanchez, and German playmaker Ozil, won’t leave the club in January.
This means that the players will leave the club to any interested club for free when their contracts expire by the end of the season.
According to Charlie Nicholas, Wenger’s words shouldn’t be taken seriously because the money matters a lot in the transfer market.
Nicholas believes that Arsene Wenger will sell Alexis Sanchez should Manchester City, PSG or Real Madrid make a bid worth £30m for the player.
“I don’t see another contract for Sanchez but if the right money comes in, £20million £25million, Arsenal have to think about it,” he said.
He also believes that Real Madrid have a better chance of signing their former player Mesut Ozil if they need his services
“I’ve still got a feeling that they’ve got a better chance of re-signing Ozil, if it’s feasible.”
The Gunners hope to claim a title this season. However, it is becoming increasingly difficult for the North London club to lift the EPL due to Manchester City’s grip at the top.
