Arsenal have begun making plans and preparation for the post-Arsene Wenger era and it is evident in the appointments currently made by the club.

The Gunners appointed former Borussia Dortmund man Sven Mislintat as the new head of recruitment and the new man has admitted that he is aware of the expectations at the Emirates Stadium, reports the Daily Mail.

Mislintat has been credited with unearthing talents like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ousmane Dembele for his former Signa Iduna Park side and he is expected to be able to scout such or even better talents for Arsenal.

Speaking recently to newsmen, he reckons that some Arsenal fans are now expecting him to sign a player in the stead of Dembele in every transfer window and he’s already feeling the pressure to deliver.

Mislintat told Kicker: ‘Going by the press in England and Germany, they expect me to sign a Dembele in each transfer window. I’m being put on an incredibly high pedestal.’

Mislintat worked for close to 10 years with Dortmund and he was adjudged successful during his time there. He left the club as his relationship broke down with Tomas Tuchel, who has also left the club.

Arsenal also appointed Raul Sanllehi as the head of football relations or sporting director if you like but it is believed that the recent appointment has not gone down well with Arsene Wenger – the responsible will now be shared and Wenger’s power has somewhat been reduced.

Wenger signed a new contract at the end of last season and he is not expected to stay beyond two years anymore.
