It was reported yesterday by The Daily Mirror that Arsene Wener is keen on signing Wilfred Zaha during next year’s summer transfer.
The news breaking out today from the Etihad stadium by the same media outlet The Daily Mirror suggest that Pep Guardiola is set to rival Chelsea and Arsenal for the Ivorian born Winger.
Pep Guardiola appears discontented with his current ‘killer’ squad as he is willing to get Wilfred Zaha from Crystal Palace.
The Spanish coach is interested in the player as an alternative for Alexis Sanchez who has been the manager’s target since the last transfer window. Arsenal are also interested in Wilfred Zaha, the North London club are in search of an attack-minded player who can accurately play from the either wing.
Arsene Wenger was the first manager to show his interest in the player before Antonio Conte and Pep Guardiola declare their interest to work with the Ivorian international.
Zaha has been in fine form since he joined the Eagles in 2016 from Manchester United. The former Manchester United winger is said to cost £40m as a result of his constant impressive performances with the Eagles.
In other Arsenal news, the North London club are in talks with Alex Iwobi over a contract extension. The 21-year-old was promoted to the senior team from their youth academy during the 2015-16 season and he has regularly featured in Arsene Wenger’s team since he broke into the senior team.
