Nabil Fekir admits he dreams of playing for a big Premier League club like Manchester United, Manchester City or Arsenal.
The 24-year-old attacker, who is out of contract in the summer of 2020, has made 100 Ligue 1 appearances for Lyon, but is being heavily linked with a move to England.
Arsene Wenger is known to be an admirer of Fekir and it’s understood the Gunners are keen on pairing the forward up with former Lyon team-mate – and close friend – Alexandre Lacazette. Asked about his favourite leagues, the France international told Telefoot: ‘Spain, with Real [Madrid], Barcelona & Atletico [Madrid] who are the big clubs. ‘After that there is England: Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal. I don’t have a specific club [I want to go to]. ‘Is this my last season at Lyon? I don’t know what the future holds for me. I’ve still got two years left on my contract. So, I’m still Lyonnais.’
Lyon’s president insists Fekir will not be sold despite the growing interest from around Europe. ‘Will Fekir be at the club after the winter transfer window? Of course,’ he told SFR Sport. ‘And nothing says that he will leave at the end of the season either.
‘He is under contract [until 2020] and likes playing for Lyon very much. ‘He’s enjoying a period of success football-wise, but also in terms of management as he’s the captain of a Lyon team who has got itself back on track – and that’s also thanks to him.’
