Tottenham were among the least active clubs in the last summer transfer window but Mauricio Pochettino is poised to bolster his squad when the January transfer window comes alive.
According to latest reports, Tottenham are preparing a deal for Everton and Manchester United midfielder and wing back, Ross Barkley and Luke Shaw respectively.
Tottenham’s form has been unstable from the start of this season, though many have blamed it on their Stadium reconstruction that has seen them play at the Wembley as their home ground – they are currently outside the top four of the League and they may have to bolster their squad in order to compete favourably.
Chelsea have been linked with a move for Ross Barkley but the Lilywhites will rival the League holders for the signature of Barkley.
Barkley, who is out of contract at the end of this season, was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea in the summer but no deal was completed for him.
The 24-year-old is yet to taste much of first team football action this season after rupturing his hamstring. He is also on the radar of Arsenal and West Ham but Tottenham are leading the chase for his signature.
Meanwhile, Luke Shaw is out of favour at Old Trafford and he has been linked with a move to Tottenham in a swap deal with Danny Rose.
