Arsenal are once again being heavily linked with a move for the Leicester star Riyad Mahrez.
The Algerian has long been linked with a switch to the Emirates – with reports in his homeland insisting Arsene Wenger had a bid knocked back for the playmaker last summer.
And Algerian news outlet Le Buteur claim that Arsenal are now ‘preparing an offer’ for Mahrez that will be higher than the one they tabled previously.
The reports go on to state, however, that they believe it is unlikely Mahrez would be allowed to leave the King Power Stadium before the end of the season.
Leicester stated last summer they were willing to let Mharez go, but only if a suitable bid arrived.
Mahrez is a player Arsene Wenger likes and he has watched him closely in the past, but the link is an easy one to make around transfer deadline day and the Arsenal boss has other potential Alexis Sanchez replacements who he views as far more of a priority.
