Manchester City are reportedly keen on signing Arsenal target Karim Benzema either in January or at the end of the campaign.
The striker’s future at the Bernabeu has been cast into doubt so far this season, with the 29-year-old having netted only two La Liga goals all campaign as Madrid have fallen 11 points adrift of leaders Barcelona.
The Gunners and Paris Saint-Germain are believed to be watching Benzema’s situation at the Bernabeu to a potential move, although any deal would rely on Madrid bringing in a replacement first.
Spanish newspaper Don Balon states that Man City have now joined the race, with head coach Pep Guardiola said to be a long-term admirer of the Frenchman.
City already have the likes of Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus at their side. However, Guardiola is keen to add even more attacking firepower to his team, with Alexis Sanchez also being linked with a move to Man City.
Benzema only secured a new deal with Madrid in September, however club president Florentino Perez is set to splash the cash in January to salvage their campaign.
