Done And Dusted: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Arsenal is as good as done

Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.

Gabon international and Borrusia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will be an Arsenal player before the close of the January transfer window, claims former FA executive and Sky Sports pundit Adrian Bevington.
Aubameyang has been a long term transfer target for Arsenal but the Gunners launched a bid for him earlier this week. Dortmund had rebuffed Arsenal’s offer as it was short of their valuation for him but GFN understands that talks are currently ongoing.

Arsenal appointed former chief scout at Borussia Dortmund Sven Mislintat as the Club’s current head of recruitment and Bevington has claimed that he is certain Auba will join Arsenal because of the aforementioned transfer guru.

Mislintat was spotted with Arsenal’s Chief Executive last week Ivan Gazidis in German as they try to broker the Aubameyang deal and they are yet to return to London.
And while one of the parties in the deal is expected to budge,  Bevington sounded very sure that the deal will go through because of the relationship Mislintat has with the brass of Dortmund.

“Since (Robert) Lewandowski left Dortmund he’s been carrying their attack,” he told The Debate.

“He’s a big goal scoring threat in that league.

“Obviously he’s a character who has courted a bit of controversy in recent times as well but I’m pretty sure we’ll see him at Arsenal before the window closes.

“The sporting director has come from Borussia Dortmund so he knows the people he’s dealing with.

‘The reports suggest that Arsenal have bid €50m, that Dortmund want £50m. If that is the case it’s going to happen.”

Arsenal sold Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott to Manchester United and Everton respectively but they have only replaced one of the stars.

The Gunners have also endured a torrid season and their chances of qualifying for the Champions League looks very bleak. Should they sign Aubameyang, they would have gotten a world class striker that can fire them to Champions League qualification.
