Arsenal are still very busy in the ongoing transfer market which is in its last week of transaction. The Gunners who have confirmed the arrival of Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Manchester United, are now interested in Mainz full-back Abdou Diallo.

Arsenal have been awful at the back, and Arsene Wenger aims to find a long-lasting solution to the team’s backline crisis before the end of the season. The Frenchman has made an official approach to Westbrom’s veteran center-back Jonny Evans, but the Baggies are yet to decide the Northern Irish defender’s future.

According to Daily Mirror, Arsenal are now in the race for the 21-year-old player as he has impressed Wenger with his wonderful display at the back for Mainz who are one place ahead of the relegation zone. He has been directly involved in three goals in their last seven matches.

Arsenal’s representatives are currently in Germany to discuss with Mainz’s board members so as to convince them to release the player before the close of the transfer market.

The Gunners representatives are equally going to negotiate with another Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund over the sale of Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang whose father is currently in North London for the final stage of discussion with Arsenal over his son’s move to the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal are currently weighing up a deal for West Brom Centre-back and Manchester City target Jonny Evans.

Diallo is currently valued at 8,00 Mill. € according to transfer markt.
