Leicester City forward Riyad Mahrez was spotted in the stands in yesterday’s clash between the Blues and the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium which ended 2-1 in Arsenal’s favour.
Mahrez who is being linked with a move to the North London Club since 2016 is currently one of the most sought-after players in the ongoing transfer market.
Gunners’ last season bid for the left-footed player was rejected by Claudio Ranieri during his time as the Foxes’ manager. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has already made an offer for the Algerian’s services, but it is yet to be seen if the 2015 Premier League Champions will permit him to quit the King Power Stadium.
While reacting to the rumour linking Mahrez to Arsenal, Leicester manager Claude Puel insisted he wants to retain the player beyond January. He also advised the club to do everything possible to tie him down.
Chelsea were once linked with a move for the forward, but they seem to have put an put end to their pursuit of the player as they have secured the services of former Everton attacking midfielder Ross Barkley.
Following the sale of Philippe Coutinho, Liverpool are also credited with a move for the star but we are yet to see any of his suitors make offers for him,.
With this move, Leicester city could be forced to start the search for his replacement as there is a great possibility that Mahrez might be an Arsenal player before the end of the season.
Mahrez is valued at £27.00m,
