Chelsea’s search for a striker has been unending this winter and they appear to been beaming their searchlight in any direction that can see them sign a footballer that is a striker, and not necessarily the world class goal poacher that the fans want to see.
The latest striker being linked with a move to Chelsea is Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud, albeit on a loan deal, but the Gunners have rebuffed all advances made for their striker, according to reports.
The Blues had reportedly agreed a deal with Roma for Edin Dzeko as they look to sign a player that can complement the efforts of Alvaro Morata, but the deal is dragging on and they are already looking to sign alternatives to the Bosnian forward.
Antonio Conte is unimpressed with the show-offs of Mitchy Batshuayi and he is looking to replace the Belgian forward. Chelsea have been linked with a move for West Ham’s Andy Carroll and Stoke’s Peter Crouch, with the latest being Edin Dzeko.
Nonetheless, Arsenal have decided to keep their forward and this will invariably compound the worries of Chelsea, reports Starsports.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are looking to sign Pierrre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borrussia Dortmund and Wenger will not allow Giroud to join a rival Club, claims Gianluca Di Marzio.
Dortmund are weighing taking Giroud as part of the Aubameyang deal but nothing has been decided – Giroud would prefer moving to a Club where he is guaranteed regular game time as he has set his sight on playing for Les Blues in the World Cup.
