Walsall signed Arsenal’s Krystian Bielik on loan until the end of the season.
Bielik is set to miss what would have been his first match with loan side Walsall this weekend through injury.
The 20-year-old defender has already picked up a ‘slight niggle’ after moving to League One side Walsall on transfer deadline day.
As a result, manager Jon Whitney has decided not to risk the 20-year-old for the Saddlers’ six-pointer against MK Dons on Saturday.
“We have to take time – you look at how many games they’ve played,” said Whitney, reports Express & Star.
“I know that Krystian has got a slight niggle, we knew that.
“Whether he is right for the weekend, I’m unsure. But I’m not going to risk him as we need him for the remainder of the season. I’ll speak to them all individually and we’ll see.
“Some may start, some may not. Some may be on the bench, some may not be.
“It’s going to be an interesting one but I’m sure the team we put out will be a strong team.”
The Polish defender Bielik spent time on loan with Birmingham in 2016-17, playing 10 Championship matches.
