Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger insists there is no reason Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang cannot play together.
The arrival of the Gabonese attacker from Borussia Dortmund has moved some pundits to suggest that Lacazette may find game-time hard to come by.
But Wenger says that healthy competition is good for his team, before adding that the two could play together up front in a different formation.
“I don’t reassure anybody,” Wenger said on Friday, with Aubameyang widely expected to be given his debut in the clash at home to Everton this evening.
“It is a competitive sport and you must fight for your places.
“You have to show them respect and they have to accept it is a competitive world.”
Wenger added, “It means we can play two up [front].
“On the other hand, we lost three strikers – Walcott, Sanchez, Giroud. You need at least two top strikers to play in the Premier League.”
