Arsenal have been handed a massive injury boost ahead of Saturday’s derby clash against Tottenham as Petr Cech was spotted at the Emirate Stadium.
Polish goal stopper limped off with a calf injury during Arsenal’s 5-1 win against Everton last weekend and had been forced to sit out training all week – making him a real doubt to face Spurs at Wembley.
Speaking during his press conference on Thursday, Arsene Wenger said the goalkeeper would be assessed ahead of Saturday’s game and that he wouldn’t risk playing the stopper if he wasn’t fully fit.
“We have a few problems with Petr Cech,” said the Arsenal boss. “We are not sure about at him the moment because he’s not trained. I don’t know if he will be available. Nacho Monreal looks alright again.
“I have no problem with [selecting Ospina]. David Ospina or Petr Cech: I will make that decision tomorrow.”
