Arsene Wenger is reportedly eyeing former Arsenal academy midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup.
Wenger sold the youngster to Besiktas for £400,000 back in 2012.
The 25-year-old has gone to have a successful career in his native Turkey.
Ozyakup, who spent four years at Arsenal as a youth player, has made 30 appearances for his nation, scoring once.
With Jack Wilshere yet to sign his new deal and Aaron Ramsey still regularly suffering from injures, Wenger is eyeing his former protege.
Ozyakup is in the last six months of his contract with Turkish giant Besiktas and is free to talk about a summer move.
Football.London report that Wenger has held personal conversations with the player about returning to north London and that he is considering “astronomical transfer offers”.
And Turkish outlet Aksam are now reporting that a firm offer has been made.
Ozyakup has become an integral part of a Besiktas side who have won back-to-back Super Lig titles.
The Istanbul outfit have also impressed in the Champions League this season, winning four and drawing two of their group games.
Besiktas are trying to tie their star player down to a long-term contract but cannot compete with the financial might of Arsenal.
Ozyakup has been praised by former Turkish international Rıdvan Dilmen for his “Zinedine Zidane-like” dribbling attributes and touted to be talented enough to play for Barcelona.
Arsenal are in action tomorrow night against Ostersunds of Sweden in a Europa League first leg tie.
