Former Arsenal player Patrick Vieira has said he’d be open to replacing Gunners manager Arsene Wenger in the future, though claimed he was in no hurry.

The former midfielder, currently manager of New York City FC, has been tagged for a bright future in coaching and would surely be a famous appointment at the Emirates.

Vieira is labeled as one of the Gunners finest ever players and skippers in a very successful career at the North London club between 1996 and 2005 seasons.

Meanwhile, manager Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal future is under severe scrutiny after another bad season that sees them depending on winning the UEFA Europa League to have a hope of making it back into the UEFA Champions League for next campaign.

Arsenal faithfuls are crying out for a managerial change at the club, and many supporters would undoubtedly love to see a club legend in the figure of Vieira get the opportunity.

Vieira, 41, distanced himself from the role anytime soon, but would not completely rule out an interest in the managerial position in the nearest future.

According to Metro, the Frenchman said he cannot say anything further because there is nothing more to say about the issue and claimed he does not want to cause further harm to Arsene Wenger, whom he adores.
