Alexis Sanchez looks like “the little boy lost” since joining Manchester United from Arsenal in January.
That’s the verdict of Premier League all-time record scorer Alan Shearer.
Sanchez is being paid almost £500,000-a-week by United but has scored just once for his new side.
The Chile star was criticised for repeatedly giving the ball away during his team’s 2-1 defeat to Sevilla last week.
Boss Jose Mourinho benched Sanchez for today’s 2-0 FA Cup win over Brighton.
And Shearer thinks needs to step it up if he is to avoid being labelled an Old Trafford flop.
“They (United) signed Alexis Sanchez and it looks like they have got his twin brother,” Shearer wrote in his column for Coral.
“He looks like the little boy the lost. It is the coach’s job to get the best out of the players.
“When you look at the players they had on the pitch against Sevilla, the likes of Lukaku, Sanchez and Rashford, they had enough quality on the pitch and they should have been able to get the win in front of their home supporters.
“United knew what they were getting when they signed Mourinho, a man who has an arrogance about him but delivers trophies.
“It might not be pretty at times but he gets you trophies just like he did last season.
“Having said all that, the football they have been playing has not been entertaining at all.”
Sanchez has scored just once in 10 games since signing from Arsenal.
His solitary goal was a rebound from a saved penalty against Huddersfield.
