Confirmed- Alexandre Lacazette To Be SHIPPED Out This Summer

Alexandre Lacazette may not be good enough to ever make the grade in England at Arsenal.

That is the verdict of former Gunners forward and Premier League pundit Alan Smith.

The striker signed only last summer from Lyon for a then club-record fee worth £53m.

After a steady start to life at the Emirates, Lacazette went off the boil, having scored just once in his last 13 appearances.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was subsequently bought for £56m in January, and a knee injury has kept Lacazette out of action since early February.

He is back in training now and set to return after the international break.

Although Smith feels the club could be having regrets and may look to sell the star at the end of the season.

“He may not be the player that Arsenal thought he was,” Smith said.

“He started off well but you can look like a world beater in France and just not make the grade in England.

“Arsenal have a few other players to show that.

“They may even have to offload him if he doesn’t come good.”

Arsenal will be relying on Lacazette for the remainder of their Europa League campaign, with Aubameyang ineligible for them in the competition this term.

Up next for the Gunners is a visit from Stoke in the Premier League next Sunday before they host CSKA Moscow in their Europa League quarter-final first leg tie.
