Bookmakers have slashed odds on Thomas Tuchel becoming the next permanent Arsenal manager, following a flurry of bets.
Reports suggest Tuchel will be the man the Arsenal hierarchy have decided will replace Arsene Wenger.
It was thought that Bayern Munich were lining up the Bavaria-born manager, however, he has supposedly rejected the team that sits 17 points clear at the top of the Bundesliga in favour of the team currently in 6th in the Premier League.
Yesterday, a massive 95.2% of all bets on the next Arsenal manager market were on the ex-Borussia Dortmund boss.
Bookmakers have been slashing his odds all day, and he is now as short as 1/1 in places after being available as big as 33/1 in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Tuchel and Arsenal’s Head of Recruitment, Sven Mislintat, both worked together at Dortmund and their relationship completely deteriorated by the time Tuchel parted ways with the club.
However, it is thought that they would be willing to put aside any previous differences; with some German press outlets claiming a deal has already been signed.
If true, this means Arsene Wenger would leave the Gunners after a 22-year-reign. Bookies have China as the 13/5 favourite to be the 68-year-old’s next destination, with the MLS next in the market at 100/30.
International management could be next on the agenda, with the Frenchman’s next project to be with the National Team currently 6/1.
Oddschecker spokesman George Elek said: “Arsenal have been crying out for a change for several years now and it looks as if this summer that is finally going to happen.
“Thomas Tuchel is a forward-thinking, young manager who, on paper, looks a perfect fit for the Gunners.”
