Valenciennes defender Pierre Barremaecker may not have made a senior appearance for his side yet, but he has revealed his dream to one day play for Arsenal.
The 21-year-old recently spoke to French news outlet Nord-Eclair about his time with the youth academy in Valenciennes and opened up on who he models his game on. Barremaecker named Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny as one player who he has looked up to in recent years.
My models are Koscielny and Thiago Silva, for his leader mentality.
Barremaecker then went on to discuss his ambitions for the future, and it’s safe to say that the promising defender is dreaming big. The Valenciennes youngster revealed that having watched Arsenal from an early age, he’d love to one day play in North London for the club.
Other than that, I dream of playing in the Premier League and to wear Arsenal’s shirt, because when I started to watch football, Vieira, Henry and Bergkamp were there.
If I could one day wear the France shirt, that would really be a magical moment in my career.
The Gunners have developed something of a reputation for their recruitment of young talent across Europe and Barremaecker could be one player for the club’s scouts to keep an eye on.
