Arsenal have received a triple injury boost ahead of Thursday night’s Europa League semi-final second leg against Atletico Madrid.
Before flying out to the Spanish capital, the Gunners squad were put through their paces at the club’s training ground at London Colney and there were some notable inclusions.
David Ospina, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alex Iwobi were all present which comes as great news for manager Arsene Wenger as all three were considered doubtful for the game at the Wanda Metropolitano after picking up knocks during the 2-1 defeat against Manchester United at the weekend.
After the game at Old Trafford, the Frenchman said: “Mkhitatryan I took off because he had a little knock on his knee again, the same thing, just looking at him in the dressing room.
“Ospina has a rib problem and Alex Iwobi has a hamstring problem. “We’ll see how everyone recovers because Thursday will come around very quickly.”
Iwobi delivered a positive update on his fitness when speaking to Sky Sports.
“I believe it is very good. I am still being assessed but to me it is good and I will be okay,” he said. “We will have to wait and see but I believe I will be okay and fit (for Atletico).”
