Arsenal have been given a boost in their hunt for Nabil Fekir as reports in France claim he is set to leave Lyon in the summer.
The 24-year-old has enjoyed a superb season for the Ligue 1 outfit – scoring 22 goals as well as contributing six assists in 37 appearances across all competitions – and has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.
Close friends with Gunners striker Alexandre Lacazette, the playmaker’s agent Jean-Pierre Bernes refused to rule out a summer transfer when discussing his client’s future earlier in the year.
“If at the end of the season, and this is not the case today, there was a decision to be made, then we would sit down with President Aulas and we would find the right solution,” Bernes told Le Dauphine Libere.
“Respecting first and foremost Lyon. At home, we do not leave like a savage or after a showdown. Nabil is in a big French club if not the biggest.
“You know very well that at some point, we may be able to ask questions about a departure. The decision will be taken in all intelligence, as professionals, and especially in the interests of all parties.”
Now it would appear that Fekir will be on the move once the summer transfer window opens as L’Équipe are reporting that the attacking midfielder has an agreement in place with Lyon that allows him to leave at the end of the season.
