According to an exclusive report from the Express, Arsenal could finally get the opportunity in signing Riyad Mahrez this summer as the Algerian International is ready to leave Leicester City this summer.
Mahrez has withdrawn the transfer request he put in when the club put an £80m price tag on his head after rejecting a £50m-plus offer from Manchester City.
But he still wants to leave and Express Sport understands he favours a move to Arsenal.
Mahrez has a house in the capital and would prefer a switch there over a move to Manchester.
The Algerian was desperate to leave in January with Arsenal and City reportedly interested in bringing him in on deadline day.
But it remains the playmaker’s preference to move to London instead – providing they can stump up the big cash Leicester will demand. Tottenham and Chelsea remain alternative options.
Mahrez has been desperate to leave the King Power Stadium for months. Insiders revealed to Express Sport back in January that Mahrez believed he could be in line to replace Philippe Coutinho at Liverpool.
